Studying at a College, one programme offering that you will come across very often is the National Qualifications Programme, these are found under NATED Courses.
What Are NATED Courses?
These are a group of courses designed by the DHET, the Department of Higher Education and Training, called NATED Courses or National Qualifications Courses. These are National Diploma Level courses, that you can study at various institutions, which will provide you with the specific skills and knowledge that you will need in your workplace of choice.
How Do NATED Courses Work?
A NATED course consists of three Certificate courses and one Diploma course. The three certificate courses each take between (6) six and (12) twelve months to complete and have NQF level 05. After that, you will qualify for an N6 Diploma which will require you to complete eighteen (18) months of practical training in the workplace.

Why Study A NATED Course?
These courses are designed to provide learners with job-specific knowledge and skills, preparing them for the workplace.
The courses provided prepare students for roles and professions that are in high demand, meaning that the chances for employment after graduation are high.
NATED courses also give students the option to study further at University and attain a degree. Bear in mind however that this may differ across universities, as different schools have different entry requirements.
Are NATED Courses Accredited?
Yes. The National Qualifications course programme or NATED courses are accredited by the Quality Council of Trades and Occupation (QCTO).
